John Baptizer Story in John 1
Story Walkthrough
Confused Priests (19-22) – The priests sent agents to interview John Baptizer. They didn’t know if he was the Messiah, Elijah, or the Prophet from Deuteronomy 18.
Drawings: John (man, flame, flag) said he wasn’t the Messiah. The priests (man & hat) were perplexed.
Messiah’s Herald (23-28) – The priests assumed John was claiming to be their Messiah. John explained that he was the Messiah’s ambassador, preparing the way.
Drawings: John (man & flame) baptized sinners (water): a sign of their faith in God’s kingdom (crown & cloud).
Yahweh’s Lamb (29-31) – Jesus visited John. John identified Jesus as the Messiah, the Lamb of God. John said Jesus would sacrifice himself to save us.
Drawings: Jesus is the Lamb of God (lamb). God (king & cloud) made everything (earth & stars) through him.
Two Baptisms (32-34) – John baptized with water as a sign of God forgiving us. Jesus baptized with the Holy Spirit as a sign that he is God’s Son & Israel’s Messiah.
Drawings: God told John to baptize (water) the One with the Spirit (dove) who will baptize with fire (flames).
