Doubt & Hypocrisy Story in John 7

Story Walkthrough

Family Rejection (1-9) – Jesus visited his family. His brothers didn’t believe in him. They mocked him, trying to force him into a public fight with the Jewish leaders.

Drawings: Jesus’ brothers (man) didn’t believe he was the Messiah (man & cross) and rejected him.

Festival Drama (10-15) – At the Festival of Shelters, the leaders searched for Jesus. They wanted to arrest him. The people quietly debated if Jesus was the Messiah.

Drawings: Jesus went to a festival (shelter, table, bread, cup) to teach more about Yahweh’s Kingdom.

Yahweh’s Messenger (16-18) – Jesus arrived at the festival. He taught that his ministry was from Yahweh. Jesus had God’s authority to teach and work miracles.

Drawings: Jesus (man & cross) is a faithful servant of the Father (king & cloud), perfectly fulfilling his will.

Moses’ Paradox (19-24) – The leaders wanted to kill Jesus for healing on the Sabbath. But Moses told the priests to circumcise Israel’s sons on the Sabbath.

Drawings:  A priest (leader) circumcising (baby & knife).

Make Disciples

  • Pray. Listen to the story. Draw the story.
  • Practice telling the story with the drawings.
  • Create your own drawings to illustrate the story.
  • Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal his wisdom.
  • Pray. What is the Holy Spirit asking you to do next?
  • Go and tell the story to someone. Discuss the story.
  • Make disciples. Teach others how to hear the Spirit.
