Jesus’ Testimony Story in John 8
Story Walkthrough
Humanity’s Light (12-13) – Jesus is the Light of the World. Anyone who follows Jesus will overcome the darkness. The leaders rejected Jesus’ testimony.
Drawings: Jesus came from heaven to bring Light (shining flame) to the whole world (earth & stars).
Conflicting Standards (14-15) – Jesus told the teachers they aren’t really seeking God’s Truth or leading by the Spirit. They condemn Jesus because they are selfish.
Drawings: Jesus was teaching Truth and Justice (scales) according to the Father’s will (crown & cloud).
Father’s Witness (16-18) – The leaders said Jesus didn’t have any witness to back him up. Jesus said that his Father, Yahweh, was a second witness to his words.
Drawings: Yahweh the Only God (king & cloud), testified to Jesus as Israel’s Messiah (man, cross, staff).
Willfully Blind (19-20) – Jesus said the leaders didn’t know Yahweh, though they claimed to belong to him.
Drawings: The leaders (blind priest) couldn’t see who Jesus really is. Their true leader was Satan (serpent).
